In 1983 the privatesector and the Municipal Administrative Office, having had relized the high potential for tourism of Changwat Krabi had co-operated to construct a small airporton public land which was completed in 1986 serving the air transport by 18-seated aircraft of Sahakol Air company( now Bangkok Airway Co., Ltd.)

          สนามกีฬาแห่งชาติลาว หลัก 16 แห่งนี้เป็นสนามกีฬาแห่งใหม่ที่สร้างขึ้นในบริเวณที่เคยเป็นป่ารกร้าง นอกกรุงเวียงจันทน์ โดยสนามแห่งนี้เป็นสนามที่สร้างขึ้นใหม่เพื่อใช้ในการแข่งขันฟุตบอลและกรีฑา และยังใช้เป็นสถานที่จัดพิธีเปิดและพิธีปิดในกีฬาซีเกมส์ 2009 ที่กรุงเวียงจันทน์เป็นเจ้าภาพ สนามกีฬาแห่งนี้ทางการจีนได้ช่วยดำเนินการด้านการเงินและการก่อสร้างทั้งหมด บนพื้นที่ 700 ไร่ สนามกีฬาแห่งชาติลาว หลัก 16 นี้มีความจุทั้งหมด 25,000 ที่นั่ง
